SO if you know me personally, you know that I love to throw down in the kitch-on! I’ve been cooking since I was 9. Every morning I’d wake up and make an egg sandwich before school, eggs was one of the first things I learned to cook. I grew up with a Jamaican family so I pretty much learned to cook all their dishes as well, which I still cook till this day. This page will be used to share the recipes that I’ve learned and made and also for you guys to share any recipes that you may have 😉

First up my famous jerk lamb shoulder I purchase my lamb at sams club or walmart

I put jerk on damn near everything, I’m just in love with the flavor, I marinate my lamb in it over night in the refrigerator to let the flavors seep in.


Jerk sauce (lawrys store-bought stuff)

throw it in the oven at 350 and cover with foil for the first hour, then uncover so it can brown.

Next up! Oxtails – again bought at walmart because they’re sealed and fresh


1 or 2 packages of oxtail -$9.99- $12.99 per pack

This stuff was made by Jesus himself

If you have all day, you can cook these on the stove, I don’t have that kind of time in my life so I throw them in the crock pot and forget about them. Unless you have a pressure cooker, cooking these on the stove will take roughly 4-6 hours before your ox is tender, again its up to you. I throw these in the crock pot, I use crock pot liners cause I hate to do dishes and this could get pretty messy and sticky. The oxtail photo above was made with beans and rice. I buy the Goya Beans and rice already mixed on my lazy days which is the majority of the time so no recipe needed for that, just follow whats on the box, if im feeling frisky I may add a can of coconut milk to my rice in place of water.

Rack of Lamb– bought at Sam’s Club for about $17 for 2 racks


Lawry’s Mango Marinade

Goya Seasoning w/cumin

Marinate overnight then place in the oven with a tiny bit of olive oil at 350 degrees for about 2 hours depending on how tender you like your meet, I like mine practically falling off the bone so it’ll sit in there basically all day lol.

Shrimp Pasta Salad

My girls love this! It’s easy to make and healthy for you


1-2 bags of shrimp

1 bottle of Italian dressing

2 bags of pasta, I used the twirlies in this one but I’m a huge fan of bow ties and whole wheat now *flips hair*

Broccoli – I used frozen ones cause im lazy

5 tbsp of spinach dip (optional)

Mc Cormick’s pasta salad seasoning

Parmesan cheese

Chopped onion

Boil your pasta, drain it and rinse it off in cold water

assemble all your other ingredients in a bowl

mix well, refrigerate for a few hours, enjoy!

Collard Greens!

I love greens! and because I’m lazy I buy em bagged from Sams Club, a humongo bag for like $4.49


1 hamhock ( for flavor) I don’t ingest this

1 bag of greens

Chopped onions

Mrs. Dash

Goya adobo seasoning

low sodium Chicken broth

CROCK POT! as you can tell I heart my crock pot and dislike cooking on the stove, so, I toss everything in the crock pot, cover it and check on it 4-5 hours later voila! in the photo above, I threw some slices of chicken breasts in there, on occasion I’ve thrown oxtails and other various meats in there as well.

Homemade Chicken Salad

This particular recipe I tend to switch up often but I’ll give you the basic


1 bag of chicken breast – I like Tysons cause they dont have all that fat, ribmeat, and other mysterious things on it

1 tub of Greek yogurt – non flavored if you choose but I like mine with peaches haha

chopped onions

Relish or chopped pickles

5 tbsp of Blue cheese dressing

Goya adobo seasoning

4 eggs

Boil your chicken, till its cooked, I normally just do it for like an hour or so

remove your chicken from the heat, onto your cutting board or food processor ( I like chunky chicken salad so i shred with a fork manually)

Boil your eggs, remove the yolk I only use egg whites in my salad

add all your dressings and seasonings once you’ve shredded your chicken and stir

Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving

Raspberry Rum Cake

I’m not gonna lie, I baked this for a dinner with my girls and they were feeling quite the buzz LOL


1 pack of fresh raspberries

1 box of yellow cake

1 bottle ( a small one) of Bacardi rum- for this particular cake I used Haitian rum

1 jar of frosting

1 small bag of raisins

1 bundt pan

1 pack of instant vanilla pudding ( I use butterscotch cause I’m a thug)

Soak your raisins in the rum for 2 days, follow the usual box cake instructions, combine the raisin/rum combo into the mixture, as well as your pudding, Pudding makes your cake moist! grease your bundt pan, I use the flour/butter spray thing cause im lazy, heat your oven to 325 bake for about an hour, or until your toothpick comes out clean when you poke the center. Let it cool for an hour before you frost it, top it with raspberries or fruit of your choice.

Spicy Jerked Pork roast

I crock potted this cause I didn’t feel like watching it cook LOL, I marinated it overnight in spicy jerk sauce threw it in the crock , it was nice and tender, somewhat flakey perfect for a salad so i laid it on a bed of baby spinach and raspberries

 I used a roasted pepper Italian dressing to top it off, I strained my pork cause I hate the combo of grease and/or gravy on my salad LOL, I made neough for the week so I’ll be switching up the toppings to avoid boredom 😉


Stuffed Breakfast biscuits

SOoooooo I was browsing recipes the other day and saw a yummy recipe that i decided to remix

1cup cooked crumbled spicy pork sausage- I didn’t use jimmy dean but a cheaper variation, just as awesome

eggs, scrambled
cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
can (12 oz) Pillsbury® Grands!® Jr. Golden Homestyle or Golden Layers® refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
egg, slightly beaten
teaspoon water
  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Lightly spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • 2 In medium bowl, gently mix sausage, scrambled eggs and cheese. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Press or roll 5 biscuits to form 4 1/2-inch rounds. Place on cookie sheet. Spoon about 1/2 cup sausage mixture onto center of each round. Press or roll remaining 5 biscuits to form 5-inch rounds; place over sausage mixture on each. Press edges firmly with fork to seal. Mix egg and water; brush over filled biscuits.
  • I added Jalapenos and a whole heap of extra cheese to the mix as well as some bacon bits yum central!bis2


Spanish rice & Pigeon peas


SO I totally cheated on this recipe but who cares it was ah-mazinnnnnnnnnng! anywho here are the deets


2 bags of white rice- for some reason or another i am in love with Dollar General’s rice, don’t ask but it cooks so damn perfect for me so whatevs

2 packs of taco mix

2 cans of pigeon peas by goya

goya adobo

I have no patience for cooking beans so i decided to use the canned stuff it works for me and my schedule 😉

boil your rice adding the taco seasoning mix and the canned beans, bring it to a boil and once it boils down meaning only little bubbles are seeping up through holes in your rice turn the heat down to low, cover it up and let it cook for about 15 more minutes till your rice is nice and tender and voila!

Pork stew -crock potted


SO I havent had a crock pot in a long time i broke my lastone almost a year ago and just recently decided to get another since im pregnant and getting lazier lol


2 packs of pork roast

1 can of green beans- i used glory brand

half a cup of bruschetta, I get mine from Sam’s club I dont know if anywhere else sells it

2 cans of northern beans

1/2 a cup of water

I allowed this to cook overnight, i could barely sleep it smelled so good, I took a bowl to work the next morning yum!

Purple Cabbage


This has been a huge hit with my girls at work so i decided to post the recipe, no one really pays purple cabbage any mind when theyre in the stores but its wayyy better than the other kind in my opinion.



Chopped or sliced onions

old bay seasoning

black pepper

2-3 table spoons of olive oil

Dassit! nothing fancy just wholesome goodness!

add your olive oil and bacon into the pot and let it sizzle for a few, I season my cabbage after i chop it while its in the prep bowl then i add it to the pot, stirring every 2-3 minutes i let it cook for only 10-12 minutes, i dont like my cabbage mushy just barely cooked and chewable and full of flavor 😉

I’m trying to be more organized this year so I discovered this handy dandy weekly menu I can post in my kitchen that way it takes the guess work out of deciding what to cook everyday. If you click the photo it’ll take you to the url and you can print yourself some copies 😉



Shrimp and Cornbread


This recipe was pretty simple for the cornbread I used Jiffy mix ofcourse, added my trinkets and baked


Jiffy mix follow usual instructions from the box

add a dash of nutmeg

a dash of cinnamon

2 spoons of sugar

a dash of vanilla extract

and bake


For the shrimp


bell peppers

goya adobo seasoning

1 boullion cube

olive oil

old bay seasoning

canned tomatos chopped up

add the seasonings as well as the onions and peppers onto the pan and simmer for a few minutes, you should have a nice tomato looking paste add the shrimp last, let it cook for roughly 3-4 mins until its pink than turn the heat off cook it any longer and you’ll have rubbery shrimp gross. allow your shrimp to thaw out before cooking it or else you’ll have a soupy mess and will attempt to cook the water down but will end up over cooking your shrimp, trust me I know..

    Girl, been looking for a easy recipe oxtails, what does the cocount milk change the taste of the rice for the oxtails?

    you do not mention how much broth for collards or marniate for ox tails!!! HOW MUCH LOL

      Lol! Ok well collards wise I dont use but like 2 cups cause I don’t like it drippy. The ox if it’s in the crockpot about 3 cups of broth or water, basically one box of Swanson and if u use broth don’t add salt to your seasoning
